Good evening! It has been quite some time since I have updated this bad boy, but I have been slammed at work and just haven't thought about this. A quick update on my life - 5 more Fridays until I am out for summer break ( WOO HOO! ). I have finally finished all of my evaluations and I am very pleased with how they all turned out. I am loving the weather we have had lately (minus today's dreary feel). I have been able to play some volleyball these last couple of weeks, which has been wonderful because not only does it make me feel more active, I am also getting some color on my ghostly self! I went to Chicago for the first time ever for my cousins bachelorette party about a month ago and it was a blast! Just happened to work out that we were there St. Patrick's Day weekend, with PERFECT weather. I have been enjoying many park days with Maddie, Dave, and some good friends. Lastly, I have had lots of ideas/thoughts/potential changes marinating in my brain for a good month or so, and I am finally starting to figure every thing out.
As I wrap up my first year of teaching, I can't help but feel blessed to have my job and such a supportive environment. I can honestly say that I really figured out a lot about my teaching style, my strengths, and my weaknesses this year. Now, with all of those evaluations done, 90% of my IEPs done, and summer in sight, I thought I would finally be able to relax. However, with all of the madness going on with the merger and budget cuts, anxiety and stress wasted no time coming back from their short vacation away from me. There will be a lot of unknown the next couple of months and I am a planner, so not knowing what to plan for will eat away at me, but I just have to remind myself that it will work out and I will be just fine.
With all of that being said, my next step has finally become clear and I will am beginning the process of finding a school to earn my Master of Education. Since I am teaching full-time I need to find an online program, which is proving to be a little more difficult than I originally thought as far as what I am looking for. A lot of programs I have come across thus far are for individuals looking to gain their initial teaching license (which I already have), so my search will continue on. If any of you know of any good, 100% online Master's programs feel free to let me know about them.
Happy Monday :)
